Shims
Shims are used to protect, separate and equalise pressure on cables during mounting in cable clamps. They are an important addition when several cables are to be mounted together or when the cable needs extra protection against point loads and mechanical impact.
The range includes shims in both plastic and metal, developed to function in demanding environments. The materials are climate-resistant and impact-resistant, which ensures a long service life and maintained function over time. The shims can be installed both above and below the cable depending on the application and contribute to a more gentle and secure fastening.
The GW shims are used as a pressure equaliser between the cable and the substrate and can be installed both above and below the cable to create an insulated fastening. The plastic version provides good protection while the material is climate-resistant and impact-resistant.
Double shims DW are used when two or more cables are mounted in the same cable clamp and ensure correct separation between the cables. The plastic is climate-resistant and impact-resistant, providing a stable and durable installation.
Long shim LW is used when the pressure on the cable needs to be distributed over a larger contact surface. It can be mounted both above and below the cable and also functions as a double shim when there are several cables in the same cable clamp. LW is made of metal and is available in both hot-dip galvanised and non-magnetic stainless steel versions.
