Our sustainability work
A long-term way of working
Sustainability at MP bolagen is about the whole. It is about taking responsibility for people, resources and relationships – and about making decisions that work even in the long term.
We take responsibility in our daily work, so that what we do today will also function tomorrow. Sustainability at MP bolagen is about the whole and about decisions made with a long-term perspective in mind. Through how we develop our products, how we produce them, and how we use resources, we continuously work to reduce our impact and create solutions with a long lifespan. It is our way of taking responsibility for people, relationships, and the world around us – over time and for future generations.
MP bolagen Reduced – we reduce the carbon footprint
We are always on the lookout for improved materials, reliable suppliers, and innovative solutions. Our designation for products that are exceptionally eco-friendly is: MP bolagen Reduced.

Z4 material
We have developed a new material that we call Z4 for cable ladders, wire ladders and clamp bands. The metal is finished from the steel mill and self-heals, for example after drilling. No post-treatment is required.
Good environmental choice – fewer transports, higher corrosion resistance, and a lower price!
Production of solar power
We have invested in solar power installations at our production facility in Ekenässjön, agriculture, and also at the office building in Vetlanda. In total, the production is estimated to be around 2 million kWh per year at our facilities. This corresponds to approximately 50% of our annual consumption.
Aluminium with less climate impact
Low Carbon Aluminium is an obvious choice for us. This material is used in products such as wall trunkings, service poles, and clamping bands. We maintain the same malleability, quality, and strength but the climate impact is significantly reduced compared to before. Carbon dioxide emissions per kilo of aluminium decrease by 40%, from 6.7 to 4 kilos. For an office building that requires 100 m of wall trunkings, the reduction corresponds to driving 1000 kilometres in a petrol car.
Company cars
According to the MP group's car policy for company cars, the vehicle owner's driving pattern and the best choice for the environment are evaluated, which then plays a role in the selection of vehicle/fuel type where the focus is on electric cars.
Charging stations have been installed for staff and visitors at all our facilities.

LED lighting
LED lighting is continuously installed in our premises and we also have presence control in areas of production and storage to save energy when there is no one present.
Recycling of scrap
All production involves a certain amount of scrap, regardless of how advanced it is, and the ability to recycle scrap and waste is a given. No less than 35 different fractions are sorted out for minimal environmental impact and to be able to recycle in the most optimised way possible.

Sandahls logistics
Since March 2023, we have a collaboration with Sandahls Logistik. It is a company with great ambitions and the goal is to run all transports on fossil-free fuels by 2026. In connection with this, two new trailers were launched which were profiled. These operate on the Ekenässjön-Hallsberg route.
EPD – environmental product declaration

Our environmental product declarations are based on real data and are verified by third parties. They demonstrate the products' environmental performance throughout their entire lifecycle – from material extraction to the demolition of a property.
GHG – Greenhouse gas protocol

We continuously measure our CO2 emissions and calculate this per ton of produced products. Already during the planning of new products, we can calculate climate impact and then the actual results are followed up.
Social sustainability
Being a good community actor is a given for us and our own staff is at least as important. Below we provide some examples of how we contribute to this.
MHFA

MHFA stands for mental health first aid. All staff have been offered a two-day training course and currently, around 50% have completed it.
Technical College

The National Association of Technical College Sweden is a collaboration between companies, municipalities and educational providers, aimed at increasing the status and quality of industry-relevant education. We have a close collaboration with the schools in the municipality. This includes internships, study visits or lectures.
Three foundations

In the MP group there are also foundations that finance research and education related to forestry, milk production, and tool technology in southern Sweden, as well as supporting community activities, education, and entrepreneurship in Vetlanda.
